MAUI HORSEBACK RIDING

Haleakala On Horseback offers two guided horseback riding tours into the largest dormant volcano on Earth: Maui's Haleakala.

MAUI STABLES

Maui Stables offers two tours daily, originating at their new and spacious stable facility where morning refreshments are served up with an orientation and equipment familiarization.

All tours are accompanied by and "Alaka'i", or trained tour leader, and a "Kako'o" (apprentice), who begin each tour with traditional "pule" prayer and "oli", or call to our "aumakua" (ancestors).

The small group size of their Maui horseback tours allow for this oral tradition to continue as they share the history of their ancestors.

PIIHOLO RANCH HORSEBACK RIDES

Piiholo Ranch offers two rides daily, Monday through Saturday. They limit their rides to up to six people to ensure that their guests have a quality adventure and can easily talk one-on-one with their guides.

They want people to spread out on the ride, there's lots of room. They offer walking rides through scenic pasture lands where you'll be able to view Maui from the crater to the ocean. You'll ride through a cattle herd, and if your timing is right, you'll be involved in a short cattle drive.

PONY EXPRESS TOURS

Specializing in horseback tours on beautiful Haleakala, they offer double the riding options with two locations, Haleakala Ranch and Haleakala Crater.

Ka Moa O Pele Junction Ride - This is the most popular Crater ride they do! The elevation change is approximately 2,500' to the Crater floor along 3.8 miles of gently sloping trails! Round trip totals 7.6 miles of incredible scenery!

Kapalaoa Cabin Ride - For those who feel at ease in the saddle, this is the longest trail ride on Maui covering 12 miles of incredible scenery! They go all the way to the Crater floor....and a whole lot more!
